On September 20, 2013, TransGlobal Green Energy, LLC and TransGlobal Green Energy de Panama, S.A., represented by international law firm King and Spalding, submitted a Request for Arbitration before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (“ICSID”) and a press release regarding Panama’s mistreatment of their investment in the Bajo de Mina Hydroelectric Power Plant. ICSID is an international arbitration institution sponsored by the World Bank in Washington D.C.
On September 30, 2011, in partnership with Panamanian hydro developer Cesar Lisac, TGGE had obtained the concession rights to the 56.8MW hydro-electric power project, Bajo de Mina, located on the Chiriqui Viejo River in Panama.
